To honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, the Berkeley Heights Diversity Council encourages everyone to use this day as an opportunity to give back to their community and live out his commitment to service & community. If you are looking for ways to give back locally, please check out the volunteer opportunities compiled by the BHDC.
“Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is a day on not a day off.” said Toiya Facey, one of the founding members of the BHDC and current Executive Board member. She continued, “we encourage everyone to find a way to make an impact.”
The BHDC also hopes you will join the community for an online celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on January 18, 2021 at 10:30 am. We will be holding a Zoom call to gather to reflect on the impact of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on our society and to hear from some of our own local volunteers including students and community leaders.
